In this very short video, spin specialist Kim Ryan offers tips for exiting a hydroblade position. As she notes, if you can glide in a position, you should be able to get into that position and spin in it (because it’s balanced). One of the most common errors for exiting a hydroblade is collapsing the core and shifting the body weight too soon towards the rear. Kim talks about it and how to fix it. The concept of raising up from the hydroblade into a spiral before hitting an ending position is a great way to think about maintaining tension of the core and the forward balance of the body. Some issues with wobbling on a hydroblade exit are due to laziness or lack of body awareness, but some are also due to a lack of functional strength.
