Illusion Into Flying Sit Spin – Part 2 (Sheila Thelen)
Figure skating coach Sheila Thelen continues her lesson with a skater on an advanced spin that the skater wants to get Level 4, but it’s getting called as Level 3. In Part 1, Sheila focused on the spin entry and overall speed of the spin. In this video, Sheila is helping the skater make an advanced transition from the illusion to the flying sit. This flying transition is worth a level if performed correctly. The most common error with this transition is related to timing but this skater seems to understand the timing pretty well. Instead, Sheila focuses on the free leg dropping down next to the skating foot rather than swinging so far around.
