In this very short video, Olympic coach Michelle Leigh explains a drill she uses to help skaters develop the control, quickness, and power necessary for double and triple toe loop combination jumps. The exercise is simply a series of walley jumps and then the double/triple toe. This drill is particularly effective as the skater must use the shoulders strongly for each of the walley jumps but then control the shoulder rotation on each of the walley landings. Obviously this principle applies to the control necessary just prior to the second jump of a toe loop combination and the shoulder release needed to perform the jump in combination.
Fantastic drill for toe loop combination jumps!
