Champion Cords Figure Skating Training Tools Improve Posture (Sheila Thelen)

Sheila Thelen offers a great tip to help skaters keep their head up while skating.  In this video, Sheila explains and demonstrates exactly how to attach Champion Cords to a skater to apply tension to help the skater remember to keep the chin up.  As Sheila notes, this is a powerful drill and does not need to be overdone.  Skaters can do this for short periods to develop the proper feel and then take the cords off while keeping the same feeling.  Note: This is most effective with the skater’s hair in a bun but there are also ways to make it work with a ponytail.  (And sorry, this just doesn’t apply to skaters with short hair!)

Nancy : I am laughing too! Thanks! I knew about this, but then I forgot how to attach it. I am going to do it again. I have one skater who refuses to keep her head up. This will teach her! LOL! Thanks!!!
